Kelantan 0-4 PDRM: Ashfaq stars as Cops run riot

Ali Ashfaq netted two goals as PDRM produced a stunning performance to rip Kelantan apart by scoring four goals in Kota Bharu earlier today.

Despite going into the game as favourites, Kelantan struggled to contain the exuberance of their counterparts, with PDRM initially seizing the lead through Ashfaq’s opening goal in the first half.

Despite a flurry of attemps from Kelatan, with Carillo in particular pushing hard to find the back of the net, PDRM showcased impeccable resilience to protect their goal.

Wan Zack Haikal and Wan Zaharulnizam worked their socks off on the flanks, but PDRM were equally diligent in maintaining a fine balance between attack and defence, which ultimately led to Ashfaq’s first goal.

But PDRM turned on the style after the break, scoring three more goals to silence the home fans. The Cops were first awarded a penalty on the 53rd minute, and Dramane Traore stepped up to fire home his fourth goal of the season.

Azman Adnan’s men kept pushing on the offensive as Kelantan began to slowly dismantle under the pressure of losing 0-2 on their own soil. Ashfaq then found the back of the net for the second time, tapping home from closer range to make it 3-0.

If that was not enough, PDRM continued to push on the offensive and Mohamadou Sumareh, who netted their winning goal over Johor DT last week, jinked past a couple of Kelantan defenders before unleashing an unstoppable strike from inside the box to make it 4-0.

When the full time whistle was blown, there was a deafening silence around the ground, with Kelantan being brought down to earth again following their impressive start to the season.
