Dejan Antonic to be Selangor’s new boss?

The Football Association of Selangor (FAS) has set their sights on former Persib Bandung manager, Dejan Antonic to fill up the Selangor hot-seat for next season.

The 47-year-old fits FAS’s criteria as he was a former player and he has managerial experience in Asia, especially in Hong Kong and Indonesia.

An inside source from FAS has confirmed that they are compiling information about Antonic and a few other candidates, to be presented at the executive committee meeting next week.

“We are interested in acquiring Antonic’s service and we had a verbal discussion with his agent recently.

“Antonic’s experience in managing Hong Kong and Indonesian clubs will be an advantage since he understands the footballing culture in this region.

“However, there are at least eight more candidates to be proposed and any final decisions regarding Selangor’s new coach will be made during the meeting,” said the source, as quoted by Berita Harian.

The Yugoslavian coach emerged as the primary choice alongside previously mentioned candidates, former Kedah assistant coach Ramon Marcote, ex-Bengaluru FC coach Ashley Westwood and 2015 Malaysia Cup hero, Mehmet Durakovic.
