Terengganu Hockey Team makes history by winning third consecutive silverware

Terengganu Hockey Team (THT) clinched their third trophy in three years after beating Sapura in the TNB Cup final at the Tun Razak Stadium yesterday.

Sarjit Singh’s men went into the game as major favourites, and they certainly did not disappoint by dazzling in front of their ecstatic fans en route to sealing a comprehensive 3-0 win.

South Korean star Jang Jong Hyun opened the scoring on the sixth minute mark by converting an excellent penalty corner before Nicolas Enrique Della Torre made it 2-0 on the 22nd minute, courtesy of his reverse-stick finish.

Jong Hyun emerged as his side’s saviour yet again as he scored his second goal of the night on the 51st minute to help THT secure a resounding win over their rivals.

THT’s triumph means they have now won three silverwares in the last three years, after their Malaysian Hockey League (MHL) and TNB Cup wins in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
