She will go on to meet one of Egypt’s finest, Raneem El Welily in the semi finals which will happen this Friday. Raneem beat her opponent Donna Urquhart of Australia by 14-12, 7-11, 11-3 and 11-9.

“My consistency paid off today and I needed to stay in there and work as hard as I could because you don’t want to be staying in there too long. I’m just pleased to win 3-1,” Nicol told Bernama. She is happy with the result and is eager to take on Raneem in the semi-finals.

In another quarter final match, Salma Hany Ibrahim will take on Tesni Evan; while Mariam Metwally will take on Nouran Gohar. The winners of each match will advance to the semi finals to face either Nicol David or Raneem El Welily.
