Red Bull to become official energy drink of ESL One Genting 2017

In conjunction with the upcoming ESL One Genting 2017, Red Bull Product of Europe (Red Bull) is proud to announce that it is the official energy drink of the tournament and ESL One globally. The collaboration follows after previous success at events such as ESL One Frankfurt and ESL One Cologne, with initial cooperation extending as far back to 2012.
 
The energy drink company is no stranger to the world of eSports as it has been playing an active role in the arena with tournaments such as the Red Bull Battle Grounds, Red Bull Player One, and Red
Bull Kumite.
 
The event, which is the first stop of the 2017 ESL One circuit will be held at the Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting from 6 to 8 January. The Dota2 tournament will see eight teams comprising of the best players competing for a prize pool of up to USD250,000.
 
So far, seven out of eight teams have booked their spot for the event, with the current world champions and runner-up, Wings Gaming and Digital Chaos, as well as fourth-place finishers Fnatic bagging the direct invite slots. The rest of the teams had to go through a round of qualifiers with
Virtus.pro, NP, Execration, and Newbee booking their place in the competition after coming up top in the European, American, South East Asian, and Chinese qualifiers respectively. The final spot at ESL One Genting 2017 will be decided through the Malaysian qualifiers scheduled for mid-December.
 
The event marks the first time ESL One has graced Malaysian soil and is slated to be one of the biggest eSports events in South East Asia. Red Bull is planning to host various activities including meet-and-greet sessions with the players, mini competitions as well as media-related activities to ensure that eSports fans and the media are provided with dedicated support leading up to the tournament, and at the event itself in order to create the perfect environment to enjoy an eSports experience.
