#ESLOne Day 2: Tough day for Malaysia as Fnatic, WG.Unity sent packing

The #Dota2 fever aggravated further on Day 2 of #ESLOne at the Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands.

Our homeboys Team Fnatic took on Team NP early morning in the Group A lower bracket playoff. The two teams engaged in a ‘best of three’ series battle and showed no mercy on each other.

However, Team NP emerged victorious in the first two rounds and gave Fnatic no chance to retaliate as the third round was no longer necessary.

Later in the afternoon, another homegrown team, WarriorGaming.Unity took on Philippine’s Execration in the group B lower bracket playoffs. Team Execration won the first round, but WarriorGaming.Unity bounced back and snatched victory the second round.

The two teams then went into a do-or-die mode for the final round. Ultimately, Execration seized victory as they defeated WarriorGaming.Unity 2-1.

This effectively means that no Malaysian team will progress into the semi-finals of the tournament, which is slated to take place tomorrow.

In another fixture, Team Virtus.Pro defeated Team NP 2-0 in a ‘best of three’ series. Team Wings Gaming also emulated a similar feat and sunk Philippine’s Execration 2-0 in a ‘best of three’ series.

Both Team Virtus.Pro and Wings Gaming will play in the semi-finals tomorrow.
