Bastian Schweinsteiger was all over Twitter in the last 36 hours after sealing an unprecedented switch to Manchester United, having spent all his career with Bayern Munich.
While Manchester United fans were excited, the Bayern Munich fans were visibly upset. Basti, as he’s fondly known in Munich, was a player that embodied every single value they believed in. He was there with them through the thick and thin, and it was always painful to see a club legend leave.
But the man himself penned an emotional farewell letter to all the Bayern fans, reiterating that his desire to leave Bayern was not influenced by him falling out of love with the club, claiming that he was merely looking for a fresh challenge at this stage of his career.
