Separate camp for doubles, says legendary shuttler Prakash Padukone

Prakash Padukone has called on India to have a separate camp for doubles badminton players.

The legendary shuttler suggested for the Badminton Association of India to consider having a separate camp exclusively for doubles players, so that India can improve the standard of all the three events (men’s, women’s and mixed doubles) in the next 3-5 years.

The former badminton player pointed out that the format has been struggling for a while now, and a separate training camp and coach could help improve it.

The former All England Champion adds that India has the ability to be among the top four nations in the world with impressive performances by both men and women in singles.

However, he admits that China’s talent pool is still quite large and with new players coming through, their domination over the sport was not yet over.
