Lightning can strike twice for Malaysia – Khairy Jamaluddin

The Malaysian national team will be heading into a massive cruncher on Saturday as underdogs, but Malaysian Youth and Sports minister Khairy Jamaluddin sees no reason to not believe in their ability to turn things around.

Dollah’s men suffered a 2-0 defeat to Thailand in the first leg of their AFF Suzuki Cup final last Wednesday, and will need to overturn that exact deficit when they clash at the Bukit Jalil Stadium tomorrow; something that Khairy thinks can happen, especially after their magnificent comeback win against Vietnam in the semi finals.

“I still believe in our players’ determination and confidence. When we lost to Vietnam, we managed to beat them and overturn the tie into our favour, and I see no reason why we can’t do the same thing against Thailand,” Khairy told Bernama.

“Yes, 2-0 is much more difficult to overcome compared to 2-1, but we cannot give up on Dollah Salleh and his players,” he added.

Khairy also went on to add that he is hoping to see a massive turnout at the stadium on Saturday as massive home support will definitely further inspire Dollah’s men on the pitch.
