2015 Polish Open: Liew Daren secures first title of the year

National shuttler Liew Daren has finally won his first title of the year after demolishing Denmark’s Emil Holst in the 2015 Polish Open final

Daren, who has been struggling to do well in recent months, especially with his second round exit at the Swiss Open last week, finally bounced back to trash Holst with a 21-15, 21-11 victory. In fact, he only needed 34 minutes to clinch the win.

“I’m just so happy to have succeeded in this tournament after my defeat in Switzerland last week.” Daren told Harian Metro.

“This victory has increased my confidence and I will be looking to do better at the 2015 Malaysian Open next week.”

Daren will be facing Indonesia’s Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka in the qualifying round of the Malaysian Open. He has faced the Indonesian three times, and leads 2-1 as of now.
