It was no surprise that Jurgen Klopp’s decision to depart Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season was greeted with plenty of melancholy amongst the Dortmund fanbase. The enigmatic head coach has established himself as a massive fan favourite, and considering they were once on the verge of bankruptcy, Klopp’s successful stint with them will largely remain a massive part of their history.
But Klopp wasn’t your regular manager. Even among the players, he was widely received and they treated him like a father for them.
