Nadal is still a favourite for French Open – Roger Federer

Roger Federer insists that Rafael Nadal’s poor form will not make him any less of a threat for the upcoming Grand Slam in the form of the French Open.

Nadal has struggled for form throughout 2015, even failing to impress on clay courts, as depicted in his third round exit at the Barcelona Open last week.

However, Federer maintains his stance on Nadal being a favourite for the French Open, alongside Djokovic, who on the other hand, has been absolutely scintillating this year.

“Even though his (Nadal’s) form is not as good as in previous years, I still believe when the French Open rolls around he is going to be very difficult to beat.” Federer told SkySports.

33 year-old Federer will be in action at the inaugural Istanbul Open, where he will be looking to bounce back from his third round defeat to Gael Monfils in Monte Carlo.
