SEA Games triumph will not be easy – Goh V Shem

National men’s doubles shuttler, Goh V Shem admitted that the road to achieve a gold medal in the Singapore SEA Games will ultimately be a rocky challenge.

The 26 year-old and his partner, Tan Wee Kiong were relatively impressive during the group stage of the Sudirman Cup, though V Shem is uncertain as to whether they will be able to continue that momentum during the SEA Games

“It’s tough to make a comparison because the pressure of competing in a team and as an individual is very different. The tension is there, but we just need to know how to control it when we play,” said V Shem as quoted from Kosmo.

“Even though there aren’t many top seeds in the upcoming SEA Games and Indonesia might not be sending their main pair, but we still need to be cautious because a lot of player are improving right now.”

“That being said, we still hope to get a gold medal in the SEA Games this year because the chemistry between us is in its best form. Also, this is the best time to shine,” V Shem added.

The national duo will be having a compact schedule as they will compete in the Australian Open from May 26 till 31 and in the Indonesian Open from June 2 to 7, before heading to Singapore.
