Twitter reacts to Real Madrid’s sacking of Carlo Ancelotti

Quite a melancholic year for football so far.

The departure of Steven Gerrard sent Liverpool fans moping and singing the YNWA anthem non-stop at Anfield. Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez made fans cried harder than they ever would watching Titanic when he announced his leave for Qatar.Chelsea fans indeed kept the blue flag flying high for Didier Drogba’s final appearance with the team, he was also carried from the field on his team mates shoulders when we was exiting for a substitution. Borussia Dortmund also mourned during the farewell of their coach Juergen Klopp. The melodrama continues this time, concerning Real Madrid.

While Liverpool fans were riling up to get Brendan Rodgers off the club, Real Madrid fans were doing the opposite, with full intentions of keeping their team manager, Carlo Ancelotti.

News of the Italian being sacked by the club came out not more than 24 hours ago and social media had been reacting and protesting over the decision.

Speculations of Klopp to take over still arise as a hot topic but no further plans has yet to be made. President Florentino Perez is said to announce a replacement next week.

Ancelotti had helped Real Madrid top off second in the La Liga, trailing two points behind the Catalan giants Barcelona. Real Madrid were the one of the two Spanish clubs to pace to the semi finals of the UEFA Champions League but barely survived a defeat to the Italian chart toppers, Juventus.

However, Real Madrid had quite a great time after that as they won an astounding 7-3 over Getafe on Saturday, which appeared to be Ancelotti’s last match as team manager.

In his two years of managing Los Blancos, the team had not win any major silverware but managed to show good progress in the Copa del Rey, FIFA Club World Cup, Super Cup and the Champions League.

The Madridistas could not hide their exasperation and sadness on Twitter over the departure of Ancelotti, and even got the club trending world wide.

This perfectly sums up the reason for their outburst,

Despite being dethroned as the coach, Ancelotti claims that he wants to buy season tickets to watch Real Madrid play!

Real Madrid have now officially fired nine coaches in 12 years. Perez, a penny for your thoughts on this?
