SEA Games: Malaysian tenpin bowlers wins gold

The national tenpin bowling team bagged a gold medal through the men’s trios event yesterday. The event was held at the Orchid Bowl in Orchid Country Club.

18 year-old Muhammad Rafiq Ismail led team mates Muaz Ahmad Fishol and Timmy Tan to knock down 3,701 pins to beat Singapore who managed to make 3,656 pinfalls whereas Indonesia ended up with the bronze medal with 3,753 pinfalls.

“I am delighted to win my second gold medal of the games although this is my first SEA Games. We were all focused on the game and did not pay much attention to the overall score,” said Rafiq, who won the men’s individual event, as quoted from The Sun.

“I did not play too well today but my team mates were in superb form,” he added.
