Eden Hazard is a name that has been dominating headlines over the last 24 hours after Jose Mourinho proclaimed that the Belgian winger was on the same page as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo – two players that are regarded as the best from the current generation of footballers.
Fair enough, Hazard was absolutely sensational for Chelsea last season, and played a pivotal part in their strong run en route to winning the league. In fact, it was his goal against Manchester United that allowed Chelsea to cement their place at the top, and send their rivals into reverse mode.
But is he really in the same bracket as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo? That’s a tad too hard to tell at this point, but Hazard certainly helped his own case with a thrilling performance against Barcelona in the International Champions Cup this morning. And to cap off the performance, the Belgian star also netted a brilliant solo goal, that would have certainly made Mourinho smile on the touchlines!
