Fans pay tribute to deceased ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper on Twitter

The world was handed a shocking news this morning after it emerged that former WWE star Roddy Piper had passed away due to cardiac arrest.

Fondly known by his stage name ‘Rowdy’, the 61 year-old was famous for his ring feuds with Hulk Hogan, another WWE legend that recently lost his status within the sport, following a racial controversy.

Rowdy reportedly passed away in his sleep, with the post-mortem reports showing that he suffered a cardiac arrest in the process. He was initially diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma back in 2005, though he was eventually declared cancer free in November 2014.

Unfortunately, his life came to an end yesterday, and fans took to Twitter to pay homage to a man that was undoubtedly one of the biggest icons in WWE’s history.
