Mourinho ridiculed on Twitter after Community Shield defeat to Arsenal

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Arsene Wenger finally got one over his arch nemesis Jose Mourinho as his Arsenal side seized a narrow 1-0 victory against Chelsea in the Community Shield yesterday.

Much of the pre-match talk was dominated by Mourinho taunting Wenger for his poor record against the Portuguese, but the Arsenal manager left no stones unturned as Alex Oxlade Chamberlain’s fantastic strike was more than enough for the Gunners to claim victory last night.

But the story doesn’t end there. Right after the match, as the Arsenal players walked onto the pitch following the trophy presentation, Mourinho remained on the sidelines to congratulate every Arsenal player. But Arsene, who was right at the back of the line, completely ignored the Chelsea boss, much to his dismay.

“I was doing what the status of my club and my status as a manager what I have to do: wait for the winners in a way where you only miss me when you want to miss me,” he told reporters.

“And every Arsenal player came in my direction which was the easiest thing to do because I was right there. If other people didn’t come in my direction it’s not a story.”

That being said, the Arsenal fans were having none of it. In fact, most of them were delighted with Wenger’s decision to snub Mourinho, which explains the barrage of insults that were directed towards Mourinho on Twitter!
