Indianapolis GP: Azlan Shah delighted with career-best finish

National Moto2 racer, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman is satisfied with his best achievement yet in his career after finishing the Indianapolis Grand Prix at 11th spot, yesterday.

According to the Idemitsu Honda driver, he had portrayed his best driving to stay with the leading group, but found it hard due to the challenging circuit.

“I’m still glad to end the race at 11th place because it is my best result throughout my Moto2 journey,” he told Harian Metro.

Azlan started from the fourth row and was among the top five drivers leading the race at the fifth round, but the former 2013 Asia Champion failed to maintain his position after problems occurred involving his tires.

“Nevertheless, I did gain 5 valuable points from it. I do thank my team who worked hard the whole week, and now I’m highly motivated for the upcoming race.”

The Indianapolis Grand Prix was won by Alex Rins from Paginas Amarillas HP40, who triumphed ahead of Johan Zarco of Ajo Motorsports, while Italtrans Racing Kalex’s Franco Morbidelli came in third.
