Datuk M. Karathu ‘rested’ by Perak FA ahead of Terengganu tie

Perak FA have announced their decision to rest Datuk M. Karathu from his head coach duties temporarily, ahead of what appears to be a crucial few weeks.

The Seladangs have lost their last four Super League games, with the latest one coming against Felda United last weekend, and that led to an emergency meeting that was held in Ipoh yesterday [Monday].

“This decision was made unanimously during a meeting that was held last night,” Perak FA President Datuk Zainol Fadzi told reporters earlier today.

“This news has also been informed to Datuk M. Karathu. His long-term future with the team, will be decided at a later date,” he added.

Despite a strong run of form prior to the festive break, Perak’s slump began with a defeat at the Jalan Besar Stadium, against LionsXII last month. That was followed with a 1-0 loss against Kelantan, before PDRM and Felda United also acqrued three points from their ties against the Seladangs.

Perak will next face Terengganu on Wednesday night, with assistant head coach Abu Bakar Fadzim, set to be in charge.
