Titus James’ fate is in Dollah Salleh’s hand – FAM

Football Association of Malaysia have pointed out that they have got no issues with welcoming Titus James into the national set-up with open hands, though the final decision will ultimately depend on head coach, Dollah Salleh.

Titus, who has plied his trade in French football for over 10 years now, has previously expressed his interest in playing for the Malaysian national team. He was once called up by B. Sathianathan, before being called up Datuk K. Rajagopal years later.

That being said, he was never a permanent fixture within the national set-up – something that he wishes to change, according to his father, James Palani. FAM appear to have no issues with that.

“For us, we’re always welcoming the presence of players who’ve been abroad and are as experienced as Titus is,” FAM Vice President Datuk Seri Afandi Hamzah told Harian Metro.

“I’m pretty sure there’s so much of positive things for him to contribute. It’s just that in this context, the head coach is the one determining the squad roster.

“We can suggest or even get him to come over, but he has to prove his mettle to the coach. Either way, we have a procedure and he will not be exempted from it as well,” he added.
