JDT’s Ismail Ibrahim: We know how to deal with South China

Johor DT’s general manager Ismail Ibrahim claims that his side will be prepared to deal with the threat posed by South China, when they face each other at Larkin tonight.

The Southern Tigers are currently led by Mario Gomez, who previously coached South China, before arriving in Johor four months ago. According to Ismail, he knows 90 per cent of the Hong Kong-based side’s players and that plans have been prepared to deal with them.

“Gomez knows most of the players in their squad as he worked there, before joining us. He has developed a tactical plan for the game,” Ismail told Harian Metro.

“We’ve played seven games in such a short period of time, so the players are visibly exhausted. Gomez is planning to shuffle the squad and the fittest players will feature in the starting eleven.

Meanwhile, Ismail also confirmed that JDT II striker Leandro Velaquez will replace Jorge Diaz as JDT’s fourth foreigner for their AFC Cup campaign. Besides that, Marcos Antonio will also be making a return to the squad, having missed their last two Super League games.
