JDT’s Hariss: It’s time to focus on AFC Cup

After a hatrick of Super League titles in his kit, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT)’s Hariss Harun has expressed his excitement in gaining one of the best gifts in his football career.

The Singapore born player, who helped LionsXII to win the title in 2013, now has added two consecutive league titles with the South Tigers, even after losing 1-2 to FELDA United in the last round of Super League matches.

“I consider myself lucky to have won three league championships in a row, and it motivates me more to further help JDT in the Malaysia Cup, which begins next month.”

“This season has been a tough one, as the league was only decided till the final match, but we worked as a team since the beginning and it’s great to see the outcome,” he told Harian Metro.

Hariss also added that his partnership with fellow midfielder Aidil Zafuan Abd Radzak has been strong, as seen in the match against FELDA United.

“We were down to 10 men for a long period of time, but we managed to overcome it due to our consistent defending.”

“Luciano Figueroa’s goal was a boost of confidence for us although we could not find that elusive equalizing goal.”

“Now we shift attention to the AFC Cup quarter-finals against South China FC from Hong Kong, with the best motivation having won the league,” said Hariss.
