KL Open: Teenager upsets Syed Agil to triumph in final

Ahmed Deedat Abdul Razak has clinched the 2015 KL Open Tennis Championship after shocking national world no.1 player, Syed Mohd Agil Syed Naguib, yesterday.

The 20 year-old won 6-4, 6-4 after an intense two hour battle at the National Tennis Centre, Jalan Duta.

“This victory has increased my confidence for the upcoming BMW International Circuit.”

“Although the final was a challenging one, I managed to take my chances in defeating Agil. I have not set any aim for the next tournament, but I’m prepared physically and mentally to maintain this form of mine,” he told Berita Harian.

A total of RM 7, 200 worth of prize money was presented to Ahmed Deedat, while runner up Syed Mohd Agil brought home RM 3, 800 prize money.
