Khairy is arrogant! – Ex-player urges FAM not to bow down

Former Malaysian international Datuk Jamal Nasir Ismail has rallied behind the Football Association of Malaysia, and claims that the governing body should not bow down to the demands of Youth and Sports minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Khairy threatened to suspend FAM recently, citing the 10-0 defeat to UAE as well as crowd control issues at the Shah Alam Stadium, as grounds for proving their incompetency.

But Datuk Jamal seems to think otherwise. He suggests that Khairy’s comments were purely motivation by his arrogance, as well as a sheer desire to seek revenge on a body that he was once part of.

“I’m confident that this whole episode involving Khairy is driven by two factors,” he said as quoted by Harian Metro.

“Firstly, for revenge. Secondly, he probably wants someone else to take control of FAM. So he’s using all the power he has to slam and criticize FAM without respecting individuals that are already working hard to get FAM back on right track.

“I’m ashamed and disappointed with Khairy. He’s been very arrogant, purely because of his position as a minister, and he’s been pointing fingers and accusing people without thinking through things professionally,” he added.
