KLHC and THT to battle it out for TNB Cup

Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club (KLHC) and Terengganu Hockey Team (THT) will continue their fierce rivalry in the final of TNB Cup this Sunday, after both teams progressed from the semi-finals.

In the semi-final second leg yesterday, KLHC defeated Sapura 2-1 as expected, advancing with an 8-1 aggregate after a 6-0 thrashing in the first leg.

KLHC scored trough captain Muhammad Razie Abdul Rahim and Ali Shan, while Sapura’s consolation goal came from Muhammad Imran.

On the other hand, defending champion and newly crowned league winners THT, made a remarkable comeback from the 3-5 first leg loss to Maybank.

Sarjit Singh’s boys recorded a 7-2 scoreline, booking their spot in the final with a 10-7 aggregate win.

Despite Maybank’s efforts of defending their first leg lead, THT scored 4 goals in the span of 30 minutes.

And in the second half, THT showed why they were deserving champions of the Malaysian Hockey League (MHL), adding three more goals to record an emphatic victory.
