Johor Crown Prince to meet Barca and PSG leaders

Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) are quite a revelation these days, particularly under their Crown Prince, Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim.

He has successfully transformed his side into a formidable force in Malaysian football, proven by their historic semi-final appearance in this season’s AFC Champions League.

Not only has he financially backed up the football club, he has also gone to the extend of forming a healthy relationship with Europe giants Borussia Dortmund, in which the German side will officially work with JDT on improving the players, coaching staffs, working out strategies and more.

And it looks like he is not going to stop there.

According to the JOHOR Southern Tigers official Facebook page, Tunku Ismail is looking forward to expand his partnership with Spanish treble winners Barcelona and French big-spenders Paris Saint-Germain!

Based on the post, it is understandable that JDT’s crown prince will be travelling over to both clubs to have discussions over ways to improve JDT from various aspects – with the focus being on grassroots football development.

WHAT DO WE THINK?

It’s still early to judge JDT’s Crown Prince for the work he has done, but so far it has been pretty impressive. The partnership with Dortmund has been rewarding and it is a smart move from him to expand his horizons to more established clubs. If these meetings with Barcelona and PSG end up being fruitful – and they certainly do have a knack of being fruitful – Johor DT fans will be in for a fun ride!
