Exclusive: “SK Telecom are destined for LoL Worlds triumph”

Fans of the iconic League of Legends game are tipping South Korean powerhouses SK Telecom T1 to triumph in the ongoing World Championships.

16 teams from across the globe are competing for the title of being the world’s best League of Legends team, but experienced followers of the game claim that it will be hard for any team to stop SKT from running rampant this year, especially after they finished on top of the group with a 6-0 record.

Vigneswaran Duraragh, who has played the game since 2010 under to name of Magus Trurin, said: “SKT have supreme vision control, they are excellent at picking and choosing their fights before converging on different objectives.

“If you take a look at their strategy, it’s usually a 1-3-1 formation, where Marin usually teleports into team battle, crippling the opponent’s ‘ADC’.

“But with Marin’s style of play, their once optimised ‘rotation’ style of playing is evolving into one that revolves around top lane domination that absorbs the bulk of pressure. They also force their enemy’s jungler to gank the top lane, thus allowing them more control of the lane,” he added.

maxresdefaultMeanwhile, Low Jit Kin, who goes under the name of RaveCat in the LoL world, echoed Vignes’ sentiments, though he suggested that STK’s biggest problem lies with Faker.

“Faker may be an icon in e-sports, and arguably the best mid laner in the world. But like it or not, he hasn’t been optimizing his gameplay and has been pressured tremendously.

“It’s not easy to see that SKT has had a perfect record in the group stage because of Marin’s ability to dominate and absorb pressure at the top lane,” he added.

To a certain extent, SKT’s excellent form comes as a surprise. Though they were the World Champions in 2013, SKT has struggled in recent times, suffering an unexpected defeat to Edward Gaming in the Mid Seasonal Invitation, earlier this year.
