BAM’s Norza to meet LCW in Paris ahead of French Open

Lee Chong Wei’s shock defeat at the recent Denmark Open has resulted in Datuk Seri Mohamad Norza Zakaria flying to Paris in order to meet the national shuttler.

According to Utusan, BAM’s deputy president is to motivate Chong Wei ahead of his participation in the French Open, starting tomorrow.

“I will be heading to France, to further encourage Chong Wei to do his best.”

“We want him to move on from the Denmark incidents, and head towards bigger success because we are looking at it from the Olympic aspect.”

“He can be categorized as already qualified for Rio Olympics, but we just have to prepare him better for now,” Norza said.

In the Denmark Open last week, Chong Wei was dumped out by Hong Kong’s Wei Nan in straight sets, making it a third consecutive exit in a tournament for the Malaysian.

Wei Nan is, however, expected to be in the way again for the 25th ranked Chong Wei, provided he gets past Brice Leverdez of France in the first round.
