Keep your momentum going! – Hendrawan to Chong Wei

Malaysian shuttler Lee Chong Wei needs to keep his momentum going when the Hong Kong Open gets underway this week, according to his coach, Hendrawan.

The former world number one is scheduled to face Tommy Sugiarto today but should things go well, he is expected to face Chen Long in the quarters and potentially meet Lin Dan in the semis – two individuals that he defeated at the China Open last week.

“Chong Wei needs more rest, having played the two good players last week. It will get a lot more tiring, if he makes it to quarters again,” Hendrawan was quoted as saying by Harian Metro.

“From what I’ve seen, Chong Wei has altered his style of play. There’s a bit more variety in his style though I’m always reminding him to be cautious of Chen Long and Lin Dan.

“Both men will be changing their approach against Chong, especially after the defeat. this is why he needs to be careful. I want him to be confident though, because that’s the only way he can beat them,” he added.

On the other hand, Chong Wei Feng will be taking on Hong Kong’s Hu Yun while Tee Jing Yi is scheduled to face Yip Pui Yin.
