Hafiz Hashim won’t be joining BAM – Morten Frost

Hafiz Hashim will not be joining the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) as a men’s singles coach, according the their technical director, Morten Frost.

BAM are currently on the lookout for a new men’s singles coach, though the 2003 All England champion appears to not be on the shortlist – as he is reportedly set to join the Badminton Association of Scotland.

“He’s not in our plans and we also understand that he’ll be going to Scotland,” Morten Frost said, as quoted from Utusan.

“I can’t comment about the issue in detail because I’m not sure what’s going to happen next. What I’m definitely sure of, is that he’s not on out list.

Frost also went on to reveal that BAM are currently working on a more effective training system, to avoid the over-dependence on a specific coach’s training method.

“I’m planning on a new system and I believe that with that, it would reduce the emphasis on coaches’ individual methods,” he added.
