BAM to appoint Indra Wijaya as new men’s singles coach

After few weeks of suspense, the newly appointed men’s singles coach has finally been revealed and it is none other than former Indonesian player, Indra Wijaya.

The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) planned on announcing the acquisition by the end of the month after Indra’s contract was over but sources already confirmed that new coach is indeed Indra.

“Indra is currently the men’s singles coach of South Korea and is in charge of training players like Son Wan Ho, Lee Dong Keun and Jeon Hyeok Jin. BAM felt that Indra was definitely fit to be coaching the men’s singles of Malaysia,” a source told Berita Harian.

Indra played for Indonesia during 1995 till 2000 and  is also the brother of the 2000 Sydney Olympics gold medalist Candra Wijaya. He also was part of the squad that won the Thomas Cup in 1996 and 1998.
