World Youth Silat Champ’ship: Five gold medals for Malaysia

The youth silat squad continues to display excellent performance as they managed to claim two more gold medals in the third edition of the World Youth Silat Championship in the Titiwangsa Stadium yesterday.

Nashrul Edzam Mohd Asri contributed Malaysia’s fourth gold medal after conquering the men’s individual silat event with 459 points. Silver and bronze were handed to Singapore’s Nujaid Hasif Zainal Abidin and Vietnam’s Ngo Van Nuynh whom scored 453 and 443 points respectively.

The fifth gold medal was given to Nur Fatihah Zainuddin after she won the women’s individual silat event with 445 points, ahead Indonesia’s Dwi Jayanti and Singapore’s Nurzianah Mohammad Yazid.

The three other gold medals were won in the men’s doubles event, women’s doubles event and the men’s team event.
