Fans ambush Selangor FA’s headquarters

Disgruntled fans have apparently ambushed Selangor FA’s headquarters in Kelana Jaya, splashing a mixture of red and yellow paint at it’s entrance.

FAS assistant secretary Amir Shariffuddin Samat arrived at the office on Monday morning, only to find the entrance covered in paint. He then proceeded to file a report at a police station in Petaling Jaya.

Though there is no official confirmation on the perpetrators behind the act, speculation suggests that it could have been from the movement of fans who are demanding for a structural revamp within Selangor FA.

“The cause could have been an individual or several supporters of the Selangor football team who are unhappy with the FAS management. Investigation is being carried out now on the perpetrators,” Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Azmi Abu Kassim told New Straits Times.

The Red Giants are regarded as the most successful club in Malaysia, but their performances over the last few years have been below-par; which is believed to be the major reason behind most fans’ frustration.

Their disgruntlement hiked up after Selangor were unceremoniously knocked out of the Malaysia Cup by Felda United last year, which led to the incident where fans stormed into Selangor’s training ground to express their frustration.

Since then, the Red Giants have also been involved in a salary payment scandal, which ultimately led to the departure of Paulo Rangel.
