Wei Feng receives timely boost ahead of Olympics qualifiers

National number two shuttler Chong Wei Feng has received good news on the injury that was on the verge of jeopardizing his aspirations to play in the Olympics.

The Kedah born player picked up a thigh injury during the Indian Open last week and underwent MRI tests, and there was a possibility of him being sidelined for an extended period of time.

However, the MRI results have now indicated that Wei Feng’s left groin was torn by 5 centimetres, and fortunately for the 27 year-old, he will only need a short recovery spell on the sidelines.

Medical experts have informed him that a two week recovery break, aided by physiotheraphy treatments and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections could speed up his overall recovery, meaning that he should be fit in time for the Olympic qualifiers.
