BAM to end 15-year partnership with Yonex

Badminton Associaton of Malaysia (BAM) is likely to end a 15 year-old partnership with Yonex, who are the current sponsors for the national squad.

The Japanese brand will most likely be replaced by Taiwan’s Victor, with BAM aiming to pursue a new outlook.

According to Deputy President Datuk Seri Mohammad Norza Zakaria, a special committee led by BAM’s Datuk William Toh, will be evaluating the best combination possible in terms of quality, to suit the needs of the national squad.

“The committee is currently evaluating the likelihood of the sponsor switch and an official announcement on the change will be made soon,” he told Utusan Malaysia.

Should things go according to plan, Victor will become the new main sponsors for the entire squad, except for Datuk Lee Chong Wei, who will continue his individual sponsorship with Yonex.
