Do not disturb Badrul! – MAF

The Malaysian Athletics Federation (MAF) has urged the nation to stop bombarding Malaysian young gun Badrul Hisyam Abdul Manap regarding his controversy over his invalid record in the 2015 ASEAN School Games.

Despite dealing with issues of Badrul’s 100m event record being allegedly invalid, MAF has decided to drive their focus towards Badrul’s preparations for other international championships and events, such as the Malaysian Games (SUKMA).

President of MAF, Datuk Karim Ibrahim wants to see more of Badrul’s improvements and hopes that we will work harder to create new records before taking part in the SUKMA in Sarawak this July. Karim also mentioned the possibility for a slot in this year’s Rio Olympics.

“All athletes have a chance to take part in the Olympics and for your information, if any athlete wishes to be listed in the wildcard, they need more than 1,140 points,” said Karim as quoted from Utusan.

“For now, please do not disturb Badrul. Let him maintain his focus on his preparations for SUKMA and any other international championships.”

“However, if there is none qualified by merit or personal achievements, then Badrul could be listed for a wildcard, that’s if only he can achieve 10.20s in the 100m event.”
