Sazali Samad files appeal on doping ban

It has been confirmed that Malaysian bodybuilder Sazali Samad has proposed an official appeal regarding his four-year suspension, which was given to him after he failed his out-of-competition doping test last September.

The 10-time Mr Universe admitted to taking stimulants before he took part in the Asia Bodybuilding and Physique Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Sazali’s wife, Hashrine Hashim had stated the pair filed a media statement as soon as the appeal was sent.

“Any questions regarding the issue can be answered by Sazali’s lawyer or the PBBM,” Hashrine told Utusan.

Hashrine denied any requests to elaborate the appeal, whether was it to shorten the suspension or otherwise. She also did not give a reason to why the appeal was sent two days before the due date.
