Bring home the gold! – KJ backs paralympic athletes to shine in Rio

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Khairy Jamaluddin challenged our nation’s paralympic athletes to go out of their way to bring back home gold medals at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio, Brazil.

Khairy believes our paralympic athletes are up for the challenge and they are not afraid to compete for the main prize, as they are in the same ranks alongside other normal athletes.

“Both normal and paralympic athletes have an equal chance. Our hope for them is to win their country gold medals,” he said as he also informed of a RM3 million donation from TuneTalk for our paralympic athletes.

Meanwhile, Khairy announced that the Executive Chairman of Naza Group, SM Nasaruddin Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, has been appointed as the President of the Paralympic Council of Malaysia (MPM).

He said that the appointment was announced at the 18th Annual MPM General Meeting last month.

“I confidently believe that the new leadership in MPM under Nasaruddin will further develop the paralympic sport in Malaysia, as well as its collaboration with the National Sports Council, Ministry of Youth and the National Sports Institute,” he added.
