Rio hopes over for national shooter Nur Ayuni

Tough luck for national rifle shooter Nur Ayuni Farhana Abdul Halim as her dreams of qualifying for the Rio Olympics this August was shattered since she capped the Asian Olympic Qualifying championships with a disheartening finish.

Ayuni made it to the finals of the individual 50m three position in New Delhi but it was not enough to put her to through the major event as she only managed to accumulate a total of 395.2 points in the finals, trailing behind Singapore’s Jasmine Ser Wei Xiang (458 points) and Iran’s Mahlagha Jambozorg (455.4), whom successfully qualified for the Olympics.

“I have already given my best but luck was not on my side. Before the championship, we trained really hard and in here, I had some back injuries which affected my performance today,” said Ayuni as quoted from Harian Metro.

“I was indeed disappointed for not being able to score a ticket to the Olympics, but what can I do, it wasn’t my luck.”
