Perak FA could be in hot water over Kilichev signing

Uzbekistan midfielder Oybec Kilichev may not play for Perak FA this upcoming season.

It was reported that the 27-year old had featured three times for Paykan in Persian Second Division League last in 2015. In addition, his last appearance for the Uzbekistan national team was in 2012.

As stated by Abdul Aziz Yeop Jamaludin, who is the current deputy chairman for the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Player Status Committee, foreigners must participate in the first division of Asian leagues or currently represent your national team in order to play in Malaysia.

“At the moment, Perak FA (PAFA) will perform some due diligence to ensure that he is eligible to play in Malaysia,” he was quoted as saying by The Star.

“If Oybec played in the second division, he will not be allowed to play in the Malaysia Super League (MSL).”

Abdul Aziz mentioned that FAM will be able to get to the bottom of it using a Transfer Management System (TMS).

“However, if we neglect it and in fact he is ineligible, the offending team are allowed to protest and we will have to forfeit the match,” Aziz added.

Oybec Kilichev has not been in Malaysia as he is currently in his native land to settle some issues regarding his studies.

Perak will face on Kelantan FA (KAFA) in the opening game of the season in Ipoh.
