Young shuttlers can shine in Hyderabad – BAM’s Morten Frost

BAM Technical Director, Morten Frost believes that the Malaysian contingent has what it takes to do well at the Thomas Cup qualifiers in Hyderabad, India.

Malaysia have been drawn into Group B, alongside Japan, Sri Lanka and Nepal. While the Japanese will certainly be a tangible threat, Frost is confident of seeing the young Malaysian squad edge their other two competitors.

“This draw is an advantage to us as it is made for us to reach the quarter finals with ease,” Frost told Sinar Harian.

“For me, we have a huge chance of defeating Sri Lanka and Nepal. At the same time, our track record against Japan isn’t that bad.

“Our ultimate mission is for our team of youngsters to qualify as one of the top two teams in the competition,” Frost added.

The Malaysian contingent will feature Zulfadli Zulkifli, Iskandar Zulkarnain, Soo Teck Zhi as well as Soon Joo Ven in the men’s singles department. Meanwhile, Tan Kian Meng-Low Juan Sheng, Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi and Tan Chee Tian-Tan Wee Gieen will compete on the doubles department.
