Zainal fired up for Perak bout despite injury concerns

Selangor head coach Zainal Abidin Hassan claims that injuries should never be accepted as a valid excuse for failure, ahead of their second Malaysia Super League match against Perak tonight.

The Red Giants are facing a crucial injury crisis, with three first team players out with hamstring injuries. Robert Cornthwaite, Nazmi Faiz and Hazwan Bakri were all injured during their tie against JDT last weekend.

But as far as Zainal is concerned, life goes on.

“They are not fit to play in the match tonight hence we decided to rest them. If they are fully fit for the next match, we will call them up.

As of now, only the players who are fit will be featured in the squad,” the Selangor manager stated to Sinar Harian.

“Due to this, I was forced to make some changes to our tactics. However, I believe my players will put up a disciplined and good fight.

“Injuries are bound to happen and we all accept this fact. We have to keep focusing on securing victory,” he added.

The Selangor-Perak tie is scheduled to take place at the Ipoh Stadium tonight, with kick off slated for 8.45 PM.
