WSBK: Zulfahmi secures three points in Melbourne

National motorcyclist Zulfahmi Khairuddin served up an impressive performance in his first appearance in the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) as he managed to secure a points finish yesterday during the first race in Australia.

The Malaysian, racing for Team Orelac Racing VerdNatura, started the grid at 17th on the Phillip Island track and was able to deliver a convincing act by finishing at 13th ultimately. There was a chance for Zulfahmi to do better but due to clutch issues on his Kawasaki, his rhythm was disrupted thus granting him to finish with three points.

“I’m happy that I got to attain three points in the first day of the race,” said Zulfahmi as quoted from Harian Metro.

“I started well but in the middle of it I faced a problem with the clutch and it was really stiff to the point that my left hand started hurting to switch gears in every round.”

“I was not at all discouraged and I’ll try to get better results in the next race in Thailand, which is in another two weeks.”
