2016 LTdL: Jakub Mareczko claims Stage Six win in Rembau

Southeast Pro Cycling (STH) rider Jakub Mareczko completed his second podium finish at the 2016 Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) after coming in first place of Stage 6 today, ahead of Juraj Sagan of Tinkoff (TNK) and Dylan Page of Team Roth (ROT).

Jakub Mareczko became the third Italian to win a stage at the 2016 LTdL, after Andrea Guardini and Andrea Palini. He finished the 147.6km challenge in 3 hours and 34 minutes. The race began in Putrajaya and ended in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan.

Dimension Data’s (DDD) Reinardt Janse van Rensburg overtook Miguel Moreno of Astana Pro Team (AST) as holder of the Yellow jersey for General Classifications, whereas AST’s Andrea Guardini and Hengxiang Cycling Team (HEN) rider Wang Meiyin both retained their Teal jersey and Red jersey for Points Classification and Mountains Classification respectively.

The best Malaysian rider of the day was Terengganu Cycling Team’s (TSG) Hariff Saleh, who finished in fifth place.

The seventh stage begins tomorrow in Seremban and ends in Parit Sulong, Johor.
