Penang’s Faiz Subri wins PFAM-Asiana.my Player of the Month award

Penang FA’s Faiz Subri has been voted as PFAM-Asiana.my’s Player of the Month for February 2016, thanks to his outrageous free-kick goal that earned him plaudits from all over the world.

The ex-Kelantan forward was touted as a key player for Penang prior to the season and the man himself duly responded with fantastic performances throughout February, scoring two goals in three MSL matches.

His two goals came during Penang’s emphatic 4-1 win over Pahang, where the 28 year-old created a name for himself by scoring a Roberto Carlos-esque free-kick goal, which has since been nominated by FAM for the FIFA Puskas Award.

His other goal in the game was equally stupendous, as he manufactured a fine finish from the edge of the box, leaving Nasril Nourdin helpless within 3 minutes into the game.

Other candidates for the award were Felda United’s Zah Rahan Krangar, JDT’s Farizal Marlias, Selangor’s Norazlan Razali, and JDT’s Hariss Harun.
