Terengganu fans call for Mike Mulvey to be retained

Terengganu’s interim head coach Mike Mulvey only has one more match to prove his worth, as his four-game stint with the Turtles is set to end on the 4th of April.

The English manager was handed the role temporarily, after Terengganu opted to ‘rest’ Ahmad Yusoff towards the end of last month, following their early exit from the FA Cup.

That being said Ahmad Yusoff is still contracted to Terengganu FA, meaning that there’s plenty of uncertaincy surrouding his future, as well as Mike Mulvey’s role with the club.

But as far as Terengganu Fan Club (PETEH) is concerned, Mike should be given the chance to continue spearheading the team, considering that he’s done well with their last three matches.

“He should be given a chance, considering that we’ve won 2 out of the 3 games we’ve played under him,” PETEH’s Secretary, Wan Mohd Azmi Wan Ngah told Harian Metro.

“If Mulvey fails to guide Terengganu to a higher level after the second transfer window, then Terengganu FA should reconsider his role with the club.

WHAT DO WE THINK?

It’s a fair statement really. Mike has done well to reinvigorate the club and has led them to two wins in their last three games, including a resounding 3-1 win over Selangor last weekend. They’ve got a decent squad and they merely need a manager who can get them to tick. As of now, Mulvey is getting the job done, which validates the call for him to be given an extended stint. But should it be till the end of the season? Or till the end of the June transfer window. If Terengganu are going to place their trust in someone right now, they’ve got to back them to the hilt. No point in appointing yet another stop-gap measure.
