Indonesian football to be revived soon?

It’s been almost a year since the Indoesia Super League (ISL) was suspended due to a feud between the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) and the sports minister of Indonesia.

In order to revive Indonesian football, Agum Gumelar, who is the head of the PSSI’s interim reform committee and Erick Thohir, who is the chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee as well as the owner of Italian giants, Inter Millan had a meeting with Gianni Infantino, the President of International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) in Zurich, yesterday.

The meeting concluded with fruitful results, according to statement released on FIFA’s website.

“In-depth and very fruitful discussions were held and all parties shared the genuine desire to resolve the suspension of the PSSI as soon as possible,” FIFA said in a statement posted on its website.

Despite the Indonesian footballing industry succumbing to controversy, the Southeast Asian country have insisted on bidding to host the 2023 Asian Cup.
