#TMJvsKJ debate has been officially called off?

The ‘biggest debate of all time’ between Sports and Youth Minister Khairy Jamaluddin and Johor Darul Ta’azim (JDT) owner Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim has been called off.

Khairy Jamaluddin flew to Johor Bahru last week to discuss matters regarding the development of local football with the Regent of Johor for two hours at Padang Seri Gelam.

“I met Tunku Ismail and spoke to him about the ongoing problems in the local football scene and I felt that it was a productive meeting,” YB Khairy said as quoted by Sinar Harian.

“My job is to bring all the related parties together in forming an entirely new structure.

“To be completely honest, the discussion was more than sufficient and I think Tunku Ismail and his people believe so too. A number of things will be carried out from both our parties.”

Tunku Ismail was annoyed with Khairy Jamaluddin for not doing everything in his power to work on the issues of Malaysian football. In April, he challenged the Youth and Sports Minister as well as Datuk Ong Kim Swee, B. Sathianathan, Lim Teong Kim and a representative from the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to a debate on television.
