“Profit is not everything!” – SAM slams FMLLP for RM50 fiasco

The Sportswriters Association of Malaysia (SAM) have questioned the decision of Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) to exclude the sale of tickets to children and students for the Superbest Power FA Cup final between Johor Darul Ta’azim (JDT) and PKNS.

SAM president Ahmad Khawari Isa said that decision is a step backwards for FMLLP, who were assigned to ensure that the local football scene is always taken care of.

“Why would they need to profit out of students and children?,” he said as quoted by Utusan.

“I am baffled by their move because they are forcing the supporters to pay more to fill up the seats in the stadium. They should not be taking the fans for granted.

Ahmad Khawari has urged Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to revoke FMLLP’s decision and restore the sale of tickets to children and students at a more reasonable price.

“FAM must not tolerate FMLLP’s ‘short-term profiting’ habits because by encouraging more children and students to the stadium, it will allow them to be more involved in the sport.”
